ABOUT THE ARTIST
Erik first became a part of the Portland Saturday Market in 2005 on the site crew and was later inspired to become a member in early 2008. He was first shown the woodworking basics by an accomplished woodworker he met there named Uli Kirchler. In over 10 years selling at the same market together, Uli helped Erik develop his skills through an honest critique, a sharing of ideas and a weekly showcasing of their newest material. Erik currently sells his work throughout the North West region at premier art shows and local events. After 15 seasons of being a member at the Portland Saturday Market, and nearly 10 years on the Board of Directors, Erik gave up his selling privileges in May of 2023 and was hired as the Executive Director for the market that made him.
